Extreme and Wildlife
After departing from Malelane, we host a 'welcome evening' - a home cooked South African meal and drinks of your choice .....then your tour begins! Below are some of the tours and activities we have planned for you, although not necessarily in this order:
We take some time to discuss the itinerary, answer your questions and get to know each other a little better. After lunch we head to the Crocodile Bridge gate or Malelane gate where you will join a night drive into the Kruger National Park - an amazing experience in an open 4 x 4 safari vehicle. To watch the sun set in Africa is an experience in itself!
We値l spend some time in the scenic town of Hazyview, which we値l travel to via the Panorama route, taking in some of the most amazing views in Mpumalanga. Some of the sites you値l be visiting are Sudwala Caves, Gods Window, Bourkes Luck potholes, the Pinnacle, the Three Rondavels, and the historic town of Pilgrim痴 Rest - one of the attractions here is to dress up in 'olden day' clothing and have your picture taken - a nice memento!
We take a late afternoon/evening tour of the local 'Shangana' village, who will lead you to a fire lit circle to the sound of beating drums! Here they will entertain you to the tunes of traditional
African music and dancing. Half way during the show, we join them for a traditional African supper, and then join the circle of fire for the conclusion. Photos are allowed and the villagers and the Chief love to pose for photos with you!
The extreme adventures we will be partaking will be done over a number of days, as some activities take more than 5 hours to complete. Here are some of the adventures you致e chosen with this tour: Kayacking, Paint-Ball Wars, a three hour breathtaking Skyway trail, the 'Big Swing' and foefie slide, waterfall abseiling, a beautiful hiking trail (walking pace determined by the slowest member), Mountain boarding and quad biking.
As we have many endangered species in Africa, which you may never encounter in the Kruger Park, we take you to the Moholoholo Sanctuary, where you値l encounter many of these endangered species up close, such as Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dog, Ground Hornbill, and more.
You値l also be fascinated by the 'Vultures Restaurant'!), the Khamai Reptile Park (founded by Donald Strydom of Nat Geo and Animal Planet fame!). From Hoedspruit you will board a boat for an awesome 2 hour boat trip through the Blyde River Canyon - this is the only way you can experience this absolutely breathtaking trip!
Kruger National Park - we値l making a full day of it, stopping as often as possible so that our guide can pass on information about animals, plants, trees,
insects, and of course so that you can take as many photos as you like. Many people imagine the 'Big 5' when they think of the KNP, but it is about so much more, and that is why it痴 important to have an experienced, professional guide with you.
We drive to Malelane in order to join an early morning 'Bush Walk & Rhino Tracking Safari'. The bush walk is combined with 4 x 4 bush driving. An armed ranger and tracker ensure your safety and will teach you about the bush whilst tracking the elusive rhinos!
We値l locate fresh Rhino spoor and then track the rhino on foot! The trip ends with a bush breakfast prepared on an open fire in the lodges private boma. We値l spend an afternoon at the local pub where you can share your experiences with our 'local experts'!
Sadly, the trip must eventually come to an end, but we will be hosting traditional South African 'Farewell' supper & drinks, where everyone can exchange e-mail addresses, postal addresses, etc. You値l also receive a complimentary photo CD which will help you to tell your tale of Africa to your friends and family when you return home. As promised, we return you to OR Tambo Airport safe and sound for a safe journey home, hopefully with many, many memories and not too many tears!
