Fishing and Wildlife
Before your tour begins, we first settle in and enjoy a 'welcome' meal around a traditional South Africa bonfire and drinks. Whilst you値l spend some of your days fishing for the various species, we have thrown together what we believe will be a nice concoction of fishing expeditions and wildlife tours. Here is what we have lined up for you:
We take some time to introduce you to the African bush - so we値l take a stroll along the fence of the Kruger Park with your professional and knowledgeable guide who will point out all sorts of interesting things, and will readily answer any questions you may have. We値l return to the lodge and over a few drinks and a light supper, we値l discuss your itinerary for the rest of the week.
Fishing Expeditions - full day each! The rest of the activities will be structured around the fishing expeditions so that we can make the most of weather conditions.
- Trout Fishing: please note that trout is not a 'catch & release' species, all trout caught must be weighed and paid for (for your own account - at the time of publishing, approximately R95 per kilo). We can have trout on the braai tonight!

The Kruger National Park - we値l be making a full day of it, stopping as often as possible so that our guide can pass on information about animals, plants, trees, insects, and of course so that you can take as many photos as you like. Many people imagine the 'Big 5' when they think of the KNP, but it is about so much more, and that is why it痴 important to have an experienced, professional guide with you. He will point out so much more and your 'personal gift pack' will come in very useful!
The local 'Shangana' village - we take a later afternoon/evening tour, which will leave you with goose bumps! Some of the tribe will lead you to a fire lit circle, whilst African drums beat in the background. The villagers will entertain you to the tunes of traditional African music and dancing. Half way during the show, we join them for a traditional African supper, and then join the circle of fire for the conclusion of the show. You will be allowed to pose for photos with the villagers and the Chief!
In order to make the most of our time, we値l be staying in Hazyview for a few nights. From here, we値l be touring some of the most beautiful and breathtaking countryside in Mpumalanga, some of the sites we値l be seeing are: Sudwala Caves, Gods Window, Bourkes Luck potholes, the Three Rondavels, Lisbon Falls, The Pinnacle and of course, the historic town of Pilgrim痴 Rest.
To make sure you get the opportunity to see some of our endangered wildlife species, which you may not be lucky enough to encounter in the Kruger Park, we will take you to the Moholoholo Sanctuary. Here you値l meet many endangered species up close, such as Leopard, Cheetah, King Cheetah, Wild Dog, Ground Hornbill, and more. You値l be fascinated by the 'Vultures Restaurant', and may even get to feed them! We値l also visit the Khamai Reptile Park (founded by Donald Strydom of Nat Geo and Animal Planet fame!), and then we end our day off with a 2 hour boat trip through the Blyde River Canyon - the only way to travel through this gorge! You値l be awed by the stunning views you値l be taking in!
A day of relaxation, soak up some of the South African sun, swim in the local pool, chat over a few beers with the locals, and then a delicious traditional Poijtie' over the coals of the fire, and sadly, the end of your tour. We値l enjoy a few 'Farewell' drinks, exchange e-mail addresses, postal addresses, etc, and we値l be handing out the Photo CD of your trip so that you can talk all your friends and family through every part of your African adventure! As promised, we return you to OR Tambo Airport safe and sound - we are confident you will have many, many memories and we hope you won稚 shed too many tears!
